Born in St. Louis, Missouri, I started my production career running the audio visual department while in junior high school. I was the only one who could figure out how to run the projectors. In high school I was a volunteer studio cameraman at the local Public Television station. After graduating from the University of Miami with a degree in television and film productio I ran the television and radio station aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. John F. Kennedy. Back in St. Louis, I became a well known radio personality as the on-air news director at the rock station KSHE.
Soon after moving to Miami to work in the news room of the local CBS television affiliate, I built and operated a very successful art cinema theater creating many mini film festivals and giving many independent documentary film makers a place to exhibit their films.
Eventually, I migrated into production and became a location scout/manager on the tv show Miami Vice and went on to scout/manage for thousands of tv commercials, music videos, movies and tv series. Today, I am an established director producing segments for the PBS show Artstreet, filming commercials, documentaries and corporate videos.
As a documentary style director, I focus on storytelling and the art of bringing out intimate conversation with my subjects.I am accomplished at single and multi-camera productions. As a camera operator, I think that I frame a beautiful shot and as an editor I can make almost any footage seem interesting.
Over the past few years, I have created a niche by producing behind-the-scenes promotional videos for large performing arts centers documenting the production of their musicals and plays.
